Anything But A Card: Sticky Notes with Pen

This decorated pad of sticky notes will be a welcome addition to anyone’s desk. The floral print in the patterned paper is enhanced by the colours and textures of the cardstock and special paper around it. Add the gold embellishments and you have a stunning notepad!

Tool Tip: Grid Paper

Always lay down a sheet of large Grid Paper (130148) on your crafting surface before you start a project. It protects the table, gives you a place to ‘stamp off’, and helps place elements so they’re straight. 

But did you know it’s also essential when designing a project?

Here’s my tip: Use Grid Paper to determine the exact dimensions for all of the elements of your design. When satisfied with your completed prototype, use each piece of trimmed Grid Paper to cut the appropriate cardstock and patterned papers.

This Fancy Fold card has a Card Base which includes two panels that fold over resulting in a standard-sized card. Each panel has a layer that extends over the fold, ‘crosses over’, and rests on top of the opposing panel. When the card is closed, the panels lay flat. It’s only when you start to open the card that the panels can be seen and then reveal the message inside ... WOW!

Q: I’m trying to create the lovely shaker card on page 78 of the January-April catalog. My sequins are sticking to the front – they don’t shake. What am I doing wrong?

A: Static is most often the problem when pieces are sticking. Swipe your Embossing Buddy from the Embossing Additions Tool Kit (159971) over your Window Sheet (142314) and your backer cardstock before you add your sequins. That should get things shakin’ again!
